The Eastern Cluster is a diverse mix of school nurses from Vote Education schools in the geographical area, predominantly low deprivation schools, and nurses from Vote Health schools supported by Counties Manukau District Health Board.

The schools in the area generally have high student rolls in excess of 2000 students. The health needs of the youth population in the eastern area are often overlooked due to the perceived wealth of the region.

The local PHO 'East Health Trust' are currently working with our schools to identify and address the youth health needs in the area. Links are also being established to promote youth lead health councils in our schools with the assistance of outside providers, such as Youthline.
